The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation offers high school scholarships to students who show academic excellence and a passion for taking charge of their lives.

This student scholarship opportunity is only available to learners currently in Grade 6 and will provide them with the opportunity to attend one of the selected top high schools in South Africa.

These scholarship students, known as Allan Gray Scholars, will receive funding that will take care of the cost of their tuition and hostel fees. In addition, these scholarship students will receive an additional allowance for travel, stationary, books, toiletries, school uniforms and civilian clothes.

High school scholarship students will also have access to entrepreneurial as well as personal development programmes to ensure their continued progression as gifted students.

Scholarship Application Criteria

Apart from being a super smart aspiring entrepreneur, you also need to meet the following scholarship application criteria:

• You must show exceptional ability and potential in Maths and English.
• You must demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
• You must be a South African citizen.
• You must demonstrate the Allan Gray Scholarship hallmarks of wisdom, knowledge, courage, vision and leadership.
  

How to Apply for Your High School Scholarship

1. Download the application for high school bursaries.
2. Complete and submit the original application form by closing date.
3. If you make the shortlist, you will be invited to write a numeracy and literacy test.
4. Learners who make it through the the numeracy and literacy phases of the process will be requested to submit a supplementary application form.
5. You will then be invited with your parent or guardian for an interview.
6. If you make the next shortlist, you then get to go a super fun-filled 2 day selection camp.
7. The Foundation will then make recommendations for shortlisted applicants at the country's leading secondary schools.
8. The high school scholarships will then be awarded.
