Taiwan ICDF International Scholarships Now Open

The 2017 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship comprises 31 programs for bachelor, master and Ph.D degrees provided by 21 Taiwanese universities.

THE 2017 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship, a study grant provided by Taiwan International Cooperation Fund, is open for international application from January 1 to March 17, 2017.

The 2017 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship comprises 31 programs for bachelor, master and Ph.D degrees provided by 21 Taiwanese universities.

A statement from the Republic of China embassy in Honiara said courses offered include tropical agriculture, business administration, international studies, technology management, engineering, health care, nursing, education, environmental sustainability, marine science, human resource, computer science, medical laboratory sciences, medicine and others.

The statement said those interested should complete the Taiwan ICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program Online Application and submit the documents requested to the Taiwan Embassy in Honiara.

The stated said applicants should also submit all documents required by the Taiwan ICDF partner university that they are applying to before the admission deadline of that university.

“After receiving applications, the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy will conduct a preliminary review based on the eligibility requirements and selection criteria of the Taiwan ICDF, and then submit a list of recommended applicants to the Taiwan ICDF.

“A review of the qualified applicants will be conducted by an academic committee organized by the individual partner university in cooperation with the Taiwan ICDF representatives,” the statement said.

However, the statement said gaining admission from the university did not necessarily mean that the applicant has also been given a Taiwan ICDF scholarship.

“Only the applicant who receives the acceptance letter issued by the Taiwan ICDF is the scholarship recipient.

“Once accepted, each scholarship recipient is entitled to receive a study grant including return airfare, housing, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance,” the statement said.
